W1A (2014)
Saturday 2nd May 2015
When was the last time that we as a nation organised something that wasn't a complete disaster? Answer: The Twenty Twelve London Olympic Games. Conclusion: Let's get that guy in to work for the BBC; hence the arrival of Ian Fletcher (Hugh Bonneville) as Head Of Values and the start of W1A, released on DVD by BBC Worldwide on 18th May 2015.
Narrator David Tennant guides the audience through events as the former Head of the Olympic Deliverance Commission and his trusted PR operative Siobhan Sharpe (Jessica Hynes) take up their new roles, tasked with re-defining the core purpose of the corporation and securing its future.
But their reign gets off to a rocky start as the new recruits soon find themselves faced with accusations of anti-Cornish bias and age discrimination, dealing with warring presenters and under financial scrutiny.
Carol Vorderman, Clare Balding, Salman Rushdie and Matt Baker are amongst the guest stars.
