The Sailor Guardians return for another battle against the forces of darkness this November as Crunchyroll continues its UK Sailor Moon collection with Sailor Moon: Season 2, released as a five-disc Limited Edition Blu-ray SteelBook.

Following their climactic battle against the Dark Kingdom, Usagi Tsukino and her friends have returned to their ordinary lives with no memory of their adventures together as the Sailor Guardians.

Their peaceful existence doesn't last for long.

When two mysterious aliens named Ail and An arrive on Earth, the Sailor Guardians are called back into action. Disguised as ordinary students, the alien siblings depend upon the mysterious Makai Tree for their survival and begin stealing human energy in an attempt to keep it alive.

As increasingly dangerous creatures begin attacking the people of Tokyo, Luna is forced to restore Usagi's memories and once again awaken Sailor Moon. Before long, Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako are reunited with her, restoring the team of Sailor Guardians to face this new extraterrestrial threat.

But defeating Ail and An is only the beginning.

Usagi and Mamoru's lives are thrown into further chaos when a mysterious pink-haired girl suddenly falls from the sky. Calling herself Usagi - although quickly acquiring the nickname Chibiusa - the demanding youngster is searching for the Legendary Silver Crystal and appears to know considerably more about Sailor Moon than she is prepared to reveal.

Her arrival coincides with the emergence of an even greater threat: the Black Moon Clan.

Led by Prince Demande and operating from the mysterious planet Nemesis, the Black Moon Clan has travelled through time with plans to destroy the future city of Crystal Tokyo. Their pursuit of Chibiusa gradually reveals her connection to the 30th century and a future in which Usagi, Mamoru and the Sailor Guardians have destinies far beyond anything they previously imagined.

As the battle moves between present-day Tokyo and the future, Usagi must protect Chibiusa while confronting enemies capable of manipulating both space and time.

Season Two also introduces one of the series' most memorable new characters when the enigmatic Sailor Pluto appears as the Guardian of the Space-Time Door, expanding the mythology of the Sailor Guardians and beginning to reveal the scale of the world surrounding them.

Originally broadcast in Japan between 1993 and 1994, Sailor Moon comprises episodes 47 to 89 of the original Sailor Moon anime and forms the second of its five major story arcs. The season is divided into two distinct stories. The opening Makai Tree arc was created specifically for the television series, allowing Naoko Takeuchi additional time to develop the continuing manga, while the larger Black Moon storyline adapts the manga's second major story arc.

Alongside Usagi and the returning Sailor Guardians, Sailor Moon considerably expands the mythology that would underpin subsequent seasons, introducing Chibiusa, Sailor Pluto and the future kingdom of Crystal Tokyo while revealing more about Usagi and Mamoru's eventual destiny.

Crunchyroll's new UK release presents all 43 episodes uncut across five Blu-ray discs, retaining the series' original 4:3 aspect ratio. Viewers can choose between the original Japanese soundtrack with English subtitles and the modern VIZ Media English dub, providing an uncut English-language presentation rather than the extensively adapted version originally broadcast internationally during the 1990s.

The Limited Edition SteelBook also includes an exclusive Season Two holographic art card, continuing the collectible card series begun with the first season.

Sailor Moon: Season 2 Limited Edition SteelBook will be released as a five-disc Blu-ray set in the UK on 30th November 2026 by Crunchyroll.
