Paramount Home Entertainment is celebrating the 30th anniversary of one of the most acclaimed big-screen adventures in the Star Trek franchise with a new Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD SteelBook release of Star Trek: First Contact.

Following the destruction of the Enterprise-D, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his crew are now aboard the newly commissioned USS Enterprise-E when their most feared enemy launches a devastating attack on the Federation. The Borg have returned, but their plan extends far beyond another attempt to assimilate Earth.

After travelling back through time to the 21st century, the Borg intend to alter humanity's future by preventing one of the most important moments in its history: the first successful warp-speed flight and Earth's subsequent first contact with an alien civilisation.

Ignoring orders to remain outside the conflict, Picard takes the Enterprise into the past in pursuit. While Commander Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and members of the crew attempt to ensure reluctant inventor Zefram Cochrane (James Cromwell) completes his historic flight, Picard remains aboard the Enterprise as the Borg gradually assimilate the ship.

His determination to defeat them soon becomes increasingly personal, however, as memories of his own assimilation into the Borg Collective resurface and the seductive but ruthless Borg Queen (Alice Krige) attempts to manipulate Data (Brent Spiner) into betraying his crew.

Directed by Jonathan Frakes, Star Trek: First Contact was originally released in 1996 and marked the first cinematic adventure devoted entirely to the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Combining time travel, action and horror with a pivotal event in Star Trek history, the film remains one of the most celebrated entries in the long-running franchise.

The new 30th Anniversary Limited Edition SteelBook presents the film across two discs, with both 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray copies housed in collectible SteelBook packaging.

Star Trek: First Contact - 30th Anniversary Limited Edition SteelBook will be released on 4K Ultra HD by Paramount Home Entertainment on 12th October 2026.
