Evy Babic (Nina Kiri) is the sceptical co-host of a popular paranormal podcast, spending her nights discussing supposedly supernatural encounters with her more enthusiastic co-host Justin (Adam DiMarco). Despite the subject matter of their show, Evy remains unconvinced by tales of ghosts, demons and unexplained phenomena, preferring to search for a rational explanation behind every unsettling story that comes their way.

Away from the podcast, Evy has returned to her family home to care for her terminally ill mother, leaving her increasingly isolated as she attempts to balance the emotional strain of caregiving with the demands of the show.

When Evy and Justin receive a collection of anonymous audio recordings documenting the disturbing experiences of a married couple, they initially appear to have found another intriguing story for the podcast. But as they work their way through the recordings, strange sounds and hidden messages begin to emerge, suggesting that something far more sinister may be lurking beneath the surface.

As each new recording reveals another piece of the couple's increasingly terrifying ordeal, Evy begins to notice disturbing parallels with events in her own life. Her long-held scepticism starts to crumble as the sounds refuse to remain safely confined to the recordings and an apparently malevolent presence begins encroaching upon her home.

Written and directed by Ian Tuason, Undertone is a supernatural horror built around immersive sound design, using voices, recordings and the unsettling suggestion of things just beyond sight to draw both Evy and the audience deeper into its nightmare.

Undertone is released on Blu-ray and 4K UHD 29th October 2026 from Visions Home Video.
