Fresh Meat: Series 2 (2011)
Sunday 27th October 2013
It's what we've all been waiting for - the housemates are back for a second series of Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong's multi-award winning Fresh Meat and there is plenty of laughs, dramas, highs and lows in store this term. The series 2 DVD is available to own from 11th November 2013 along with the series 1-2 DVD boxset, courtesy of 4DVD.
Returning to Hartnell Avenue a little bit older but not much wiser are JP (Jack Whitehall - Bad Education); Kingsley (Joe Thomas - The Inbetweeners); Josie (Kimberley Nixon - Elfie Hopkins), Howard (Greg McHugh - Gary: Tank Commander); Vod (Zawe Ashton - Case Histories) and Oregon (Charlotte Ritchie).
It's a brand new term and, not surprisingly, a few things have changed. Kingsley has a new image and Josie is turning over a new leaf. JP's great friend Giles (Gwilym Lee) has transferred from Exeter, Vod is skint and Paul Lamb, the invisible flatmate has gone, so it's time to find a replacement...
As you'd expect from this set of inhabitants, living the student lifestyle comes with its fair share of dramas. This term there's a spate of muggings on campus leaving the gang concerned about their safety, JP is confined to his bed with mumps, and Kingsley makes a shock announcement that leaves Josie reeling!
On a positive note the housemates try to throw themselves into all areas of student life: Kingsley performs an angst-ridden song at an open mic gig in the Student Union and Vod gate-crashes a seminar given by a renowned poet and befriends the great man himself - with dramatic and unexpected consequences...
With Heather (Sophie Wu) and Kingsley making the brave move to shack up together and the first academic year coming to a close comes the prospect of the gang splitting up. However, JP makes it his mission to keep the whole house together and valiantly fight the forces of change... will he be successful or will this thrown together bunch of misfits find life after their Manchester residence?
Fresh Meat - Series 2 features a host of guest stars including Jelka van Houten (Jackie) as Sabine, Sophie Wu (The Fades) as Heather, Robert Webb as Geology lecturer Dan and Tony Gardner as Professor Shales. Series 2 is out to own on DVD from 11th November or why not revisit the students' antics across the whole academic year with the series 1-2 boxset.
