The belles are back! The anarchic and uncontrollable girls of St Trinian's School for 'young ladies' return for another high octane dose of mayhem and mischief as they face up to their most fearsome rivals yet and embark on a hunt to find the legendary treasure known as Fritton's Gold.
St Trinian's 2 - The Legend of Fritton's Gold was a huge success at the UK box office, taking over £7 million when it was released theatrically at the end of last year, and is now being released by Entertainment in Video on rental DVD on 10th May 2010 and retail DVD and Blu-ray on 24th May 2010
Reprising their roles from the 2007 St Trinian's are Rupert Everett (My Best Friend's Wedding; 'The Next Best Thing; An Ideal Husband) as the school's unconventional headmistress Camilla Fritton; Colin Firth (A Single Man; Mamma Mia; Bridget Jones's Diary) as the headmistress's old flame Geoffrey Thwaites; Talulah Riley as new head girl Annabelle Fritton; Tamsin Egerton as posh totty Chelsea and Juno Temple (Atonement, Cracks) as eco leader Celia.
They are joined for Fritton's Gold by Dr Who star David Tennant who plays the villainous Sir Piers Pomfrey, head of the women-hating secret society, known as AD1, while Girls Aloud Sarah Harding returns, this time as indie chick, Roxy.
It's the start of a new term at St Trinian's and the usual excitement reigns. However chaos reaches new levels one of the girls is caught in attempting to steal a ring. It turns out that she has been paid to steal the valuable from the Fritton family archive.
When headmistress Miss Fritton sees the ring her eyes light up in the belief that the family legend of Fritton's Gold must be true! All the girls need to do now is find the other half of the clue on a second ring and vast riches will be theirs!
However their joy is short-lived when the school is raided by a crack SAS style team led by Sir Piers Pomfrey and Sir Piers seizes the ring. In true St Trinian's style the girls refuse to be beaten that easily. Determined to stay in the hunt they delve into the Fritton archives while Miss Fritton agrees to contact disgraced old flame Geoffrey to learn more about Pomfrey and his secret society of women hating establishment figures.
The girls use their cunning and wit to solve riddles and clues and soon find themselves digging up graves, being possessed by long dead ancestors and going undercover at a boys school. The race for the treasure is on and with AD1 hot on their heels the girls resources are put to the ultimate test.
