Imagine living next door to Michael Caine and Jack Nicholson or buying your milk and daily papers from Mick Jagger and Keith Richards' corner shop... well you can do just that in Stella Street - the comedy series of impersonations that inspired a generation of copycat programmes.
Stella Street is the hilarious groundbreaking show that with its new ten-minute format paved the way for many great British comedies. It was first screened in January 1997 on the BBC to great acclaim.
Written and directed by Peter Richardson (Comic Strip Presents, Not The Nine O'Clock News) the first series, featuring 10 episodes will be released as a DVD premier courtesy of Playback.
Set in a suburban street in Surbiton, Surrey it stars the talented comedy actors Phil Cornwell (Comic Strip Presents, Alan Partridge, World Of Pub), John Sessions (Good Shepherd, Absolute Power) and Ronni Ancona (Big Impression, A Cock And Bull Story) as the whole host of super stars, who have taken up residence in the same neighbourhood.
The famous faces include actors (James Stewart, Dirk Bogarde, Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman) singers (David Bowie, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Madonna) soap characters (Phil and Grant Mitchell) and even royalty (Princess Margaret).
With scores of the biggest names in TV, film and music Stella Street is bound to make the right impression!
