Jamie Lee Curtis faces Michael Myers once again this October as Halloween H20: 20 Years Later makes its way to 4K Ultra HD from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Twenty years have passed since Laurie Strode survived the terrifying Halloween night that saw her pursued through the streets of Haddonfield by her seemingly unstoppable brother, Michael Myers.

Laurie survived - but she has never truly escaped. Having faked her death, abandoned her old identity and attempted to leave Haddonfield behind, Laurie is now living as Keri Tate, headmistress of the secluded Hillcrest Academy boarding school in Northern California. On the surface, she has successfully rebuilt her life. She has a career, a relationship with school counsellor Will Brennan (Adam Arkin) and a teenage son, John (Josh Hartnett), who knows little about the true extent of his mother's past.

But twenty years of distance have done nothing to erase Laurie's memories. Still traumatised by the events of 1978, she lives with the constant fear that Michael will eventually find her. Alcohol and medication help control the anxiety, but her increasingly protective behaviour is placing a growing strain on her relationship with John, who is desperate to escape the restrictions imposed by his mother's fear.

Then, on Halloween night, Laurie's nightmare finally returns.

While most of the students leave Hillcrest for a school trip, John secretly remains behind with his girlfriend Molly (Michelle Williams) and friends Charlie (Adam Hann-Byrd) and Sarah (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe), planning their own Halloween celebration on the apparently deserted campus. They aren't alone.

Michael Myers has finally discovered where Laurie has been hiding and, two decades after their first encounter, arrives at Hillcrest to finish what he started.

But the woman waiting for him is no longer the terrified teenager who survived his original killing spree.

When Laurie realises that running has done nothing but allow Michael to control her life, she makes a decision that transforms *Halloween H20* from another pursuit into a confrontation. Rather than escaping once again, Laurie chooses to turn around and face the source of the trauma that has haunted her for twenty years.

Released in 1998 to coincide with the twentieth anniversary of John Carpenter's original Halloween, Halloween H20 marked Jamie Lee Curtis's return to the franchise for the first time since 1981's Halloween II.

The film deliberately returned the series' focus to Laurie Strode, effectively continuing her story from the first two films while moving away from much of the increasingly complicated mythology that had developed across the subsequent sequels.

Directed by Steve Miner, whose horror credentials already included Friday the 13th Part 2 and Friday the 13th Part III, the film arrived during the late-1990s revival of the slasher movie and reunited Curtis with one of horror cinema's most recognisable characters. Curtis is joined by Josh Hartnett in his feature-film debut as Laurie's son John, with Michelle Williams, Adam Arkin, LL Cool J, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe and Adam Hann-Byrd among the ensemble.

The film also provides a particularly appropriate link with an earlier generation of horror cinema through the appearance of Janet Leigh - Jamie Lee Curtis's real-life mother and the star of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho - as Laurie's secretary Norma Watson. Joseph Gordon-Levitt also makes a memorable early appearance as Jimmy, an unfortunate neighbour who discovers that Michael Myers has returned considerably sooner than everyone else.

Now, more than 25 years after Laurie and Michael's reunion, Halloween H20 comes to UK 4K Ultra HD in a two-disc edition containing the film on UHD and Blu-ray. The 4K presentation is sourced from the restoration created from the original camera negative and is presented in 2160p with Dolby Vision and HDR10, retaining the film's original 2.35:1 aspect ratio.

The accompanying Blu-ray also brings across a selection of supplementary material exploring the production. The 86-minute Halloween H20: 20 Years Later will be released as a two-disc 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray edition 5th October 2026 by Paramount Home Entertainment.
