Following its arrival on home entertainment earlier this year, Antoine Fuqua's Michael is returning to 4K Ultra HD this November with a pair of new Limited Edition SteelBook releases celebrating the life, music and extraordinary career of Michael Jackson.

Jaafar Jackson takes on the role of his uncle in the ambitious biographical drama, which charts Michael Jackson's journey from a remarkably gifted child performing alongside his brothers in The Jackson 5 to his emergence as a solo artist determined to become the biggest entertainer in the world.

Beginning with the Jackson family's early years in Gary, Indiana, the film explores the influence of parents Joe (Colman Domingo) and Katherine Jackson (Nia Long), as Michael's extraordinary talent begins to set him apart. Success with The Jackson 5 brings fame at an early age, but also introduces the pressures and expectations that would accompany him throughout his career.

As Michael grows older, his ambitions increasingly extend beyond the group. His development as a songwriter, performer and recording artist ultimately leads him towards a solo career, where an obsessive attention to music, choreography and presentation helps transform him from former child star into a global phenomenon.

The film recreates some of the defining moments of Jackson's early solo career, taking audiences behind the music as songs and performances that would become part of popular culture begin to take shape. Alongside the public spectacle, Michael also explores the man away from the stage and the family relationships, creative partnerships and relentless drive that helped shape his career.

Jaafar Jackson is joined by Juliano Valdi as the young Michael, with Colman Domingo and Nia Long portraying Joe and Katherine Jackson. Miles Teller stars as attorney and adviser John Branca, while Laura Harrier plays music executive Suzanne de Passe.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer) from a screenplay by John Logan, Michael was produced by Graham King, whose previous credits include the Freddie Mercury and Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will give collectors another opportunity to add the film to their shelves on 23rd November 2026 with two new 4K Ultra HD SteelBook editions. The Red Limited Edition SteelBook contains the film across 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, while the more elaborate Icon Edition packages its two-disc SteelBook inside a rigid slipcase and adds a 20-page booklet, double-sided poster and collection of art cards.

Both releases feature the film in 2160p Ultra HD with Dolby Vision and HDR10, accompanied by an English Dolby Atmos soundtrack.
