Hugh Jackman takes on some of cinema's most legendary monsters this October as Stephen Sommers' spectacular Van Helsing returns in a new Collector's Edition 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray SteelBook from Universal Pictures.

Deep in the mountains of Transylvania, the last surviving member of the Valerious family is fighting a seemingly impossible battle against Count Dracula (Richard Roxburgh) and the supernatural creatures under his control.

Anna Valerious (Kate Beckinsale) has sworn to destroy Dracula and fulfil a centuries-old promise made by her family, but she is rapidly running out of both time and allies. Help arrives in the unlikely form of Gabriel Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman), a mysterious monster hunter working for a secret organisation based beneath the Vatican.

Haunted by a past he cannot remember, Van Helsing has spent his life hunting creatures that most people believe exist only in legend. Having already confronted Mr Hyde on the streets of Paris, his latest assignment sends him to Transylvania with friar and weapons expert Carl (David Wenham), where he discovers that Dracula's plans extend considerably further than simply terrorising the local population.

The vampire has been conducting a series of grotesque experiments designed to bring his countless undead offspring to life - and the secret to succeeding may lie with Frankenstein's Monster (Shuler Hensley). Van Helsing and Anna consequently find themselves caught in a battle involving vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein's creation as Dracula attempts to unlock the secret capable of giving life to an army of his children.

But Van Helsing's confrontation with Dracula also begins revealing clues about his own mysterious past, suggesting that the monster hunter and vampire may have encountered one another long before his arrival in Transylvania.

Written and directed by Stephen Sommers following the enormous success of The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, Van Helsing was released in 2004 as an extravagant celebration of Universal's classic monster heritage.

More than two decades after its original cinema release, Van Helsing now returns in a new two-disc Collector's Edition combining the film on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray within a collectible SteelBook. The 4K presentation features a native 3840x2160 image with HDR10 in the film's original 1.85:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by an English DTS:X soundtrack.

Universal has also retained an extensive collection of archive supplementary material, amounting to more than two hours of behind-the-scenes features, documentaries and commentaries exploring the creation of Sommers' monster adventure.

The Collector's Edition also adds a selection of physical material, with the SteelBook housed inside a rigid slipcase alongside a 44-page booklet, double-sided poster and five collectible art cards. For collectors interested primarily in the film and SteelBook, Universal is also releasing a separate two-disc Limited Edition SteelBook without the additional Collector's Edition packaging and physical extras.

Van Helsing: Collector's Edition will be released on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray SteelBook in the UK on 5th October 2026 by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
