This first live DVD in over a decade, gives viewers a glorious insight into Alan's unique worldview. Growing up in the 1970s, childhood holidays, the vagaries of Facebook, sex toys, plastic surgery and being a father are just some of the subjects he tackles.
Alan launched the Life is Pain tour at the Edinburgh Festival in 2012 and the tour is still continuing, with shows across the UK during November 2013.
Alan's return to stand-up has won much critical acclaim. Time Out said "Davies lives up to the high expectations in this nostalgia-tinged hour.. a terrifically poignant show." The Guardian praised the performance saying "he's got decade's worth of new raw material to explore - and still has the comedy chops to do them justice.. Davies' old magic still works so well."
