Following a nailbiting cliff-hanger to end all cliff-hangers at the end of its first series, the award-winning Nashville returns on 7th July 2014 to take us back to the music, the drama and the scandals - and this time it's bigger, bitchier and ballsier than ever before.
Music legend Rayna Jaymes once reigned as the Queen of Country, but after two decades at the top an evolving music scene saw her at risk of losing her crown to the young, sexy, up-and-coming crossover country-pop starlet, Juliette Barnes. But bitter rivalries, newly discovered and soon-to-be-broken relationships, jealousy and blind ambition all conspire to threaten the careers and lives of both women, their friends and their lovers.
Things pick up immediately where series one ended, with two lives hanging in the balance. Rayna continues to fight to save her career and finds herself going head-to-head against a new record label boss. Deacon has sunk to an all-time low in his life and now has to deal with the revelation that he is, in fact, someone's father. Scarlett is in self-destruct mode as she comes to terms with her brief flash of fame, and Gunnar is becoming well aware that his door to stardom is about to close.
Meanwhile, Juliette, following a failed brief marriage, a sex scandal and extortion plot, and the death of her mother, is beginning to rebuild her life and her career. But now there's a new diva on the block in the form of hot new talent, Layla Grant, and she's looking set to change the city of Nashville - and the lives of its most famous, successful and glamorous residents - forever.
