With weekly date nights at the local steak house, two young children and a comfortable existence in suburbia, Claire and Phil's lives are far from exciting. When they learn that their best friends Brad (Mark Ruffalo; Just Like Heaven, 13 Going on 30) and Haley (Kristen Wiig; Saturday Night Live, Whip It) are getting a divorce they realise its time bring some romance back into their marriage. Deciding to take Claire to a trendy bistro in the city, where they are unable to get a table, Phil makes a spur of the moment decision and takes the table of a no-show couple, the Tripplehorns; a decision that will give their marriage more spark than they ever anticipated...
While pretending to be the mysterious Tripplehorns during dinner, the couple are confronted by two gunmen who accuse them of stealing a flash drive from the city's most infamous mob boss, Joe Miletto (Ray Liotta; Goodfellas, Hannibal). Ably assisted by a shirtless Mark Wahlberg (The Italian Job, Boogie Nights) the Foster's find themselves on the run and facing a race against time to track down the real Tripplehorns (James Franco; Spiderman, Eat Pray Love and Mila Kunis; Family Guy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and make it home from their Date Night alive!
