Ah! My Goddess!: Complete Box Set (2008)

One of anime's best-loved and most popular romantic couples, hapless student Heiichi Morisoto and the goddess Belldandy make a welcome return to the screen in Ah! My Goddess! TV Series: Complete Box Set, coming to DVD on 7th July 2008 courtesy of MVM.

Based on the original story by Kosuke Fujishima, originally serialized in Kodansha's monthly magazine Afternoon, this brand new anime series see the saga returning to its manga roots for the most faithful animated Ah! My Goddess! adaptation to date, something that is certain to please both fans of the original manga and its previous and incredibly popular anime adaptations.

A college sophomore studying engineering at the Nekomi Institute of Technology, Heiichi Morisoto may be the top driver of his campus motor club but his winning ways behind the wheel do nothing to impress the ladies. Short of stature and geeky by nature, Heiichi seems destined to be forever unlucky in love. However, his romantic fate takes a bizarre turn in the right direction when a misdialled telephone call inadvertently hooks him up to the mysterious Goddess Helpline.

Within moments the beautiful goddess, Belldandy, has stepped through the mirror in Heiichi's room to announce he has been awarded one wish. Taken by surprise and flattered by Belldandy's praise of him, he impulsively wishes that he could have a perfect goddess of a girlfriend just like Belldandy by his side forever. For better or worse, Heiichi's wish is granted in the most literal sense, leading to no end of comedic complications for a pairing that is at least half made in heaven!
