A little seen but highly regarded cult shocker written and produced by Twisted Sister frontman and heavy metal superstar Dee Snider, and directed by John Pieplow (Jurassic Women), Strangeland, released on DVD by Anchor Bay UK on 29th May 2006, is a dark and twisted suspense thriller in the tradition of The Silence Of The Lambs and Kiss The Girls but one that takes the serial killer genre to the furthest limits of psychotic perversion.

Also starring Snider as the film's crazed, tattooed and pierced villain, Captain Howdy / Carleton Hendricks, Strangeland co-stars Linda Cardellini (Brokeback Mountain; E.R.; Freaks And Geeks), Amy Smart (Starsky & Hutch; The Butterfly Effect), Robert Englund (the Nightmare On Elm Street movies), Elizabeth Peña (Transamerica; Jacob's Ladder), Brett Harrelson (From Dusk Till Dawn 2; The People Vs. Larry Flynt) and Kevin Gage (May; Blow; Heat).

While surfing internet chatrooms, teenagers Genevieve Gage (Linda Cardellini) and Tiana Moore (Amal Rhoe) begin exchanging messages with a user calling himself "Captain Howdy" and take up an invitation to attend a party at his house. But when the girls are discovered missing the next morning, Genevieve's mother Toni (Elizabeth Peña) instinctively fears the worst. Toni's anxieties are proven justified when her detective husband Mike (Kevin Gage) is called to a crime scene in the local area.

Tiana's heavily scarred and ritualistically pierced body has been found in the boot of an abandoned car, but there are no signs of Genevieve. Believing against all hope that his daughter could still be alive, Gage focuses his investigations on the internet and begins a journey into the bizarre world of Carleton Hendricks (Dee Snider), a psychotic stalker with a dangerous fetish for extreme torture, S&M and body modification.

Not for the faint hearted, Strangeland presents a graphic and horrifyingly unique vision of terror played out to a brutally pounding soundtrack that features music by the likes of System Of A Down, Marilyn Manson, Pantera, Soulfly, Megadeth, Anthrax, Nashville Pussy, Kid Rock, Eminem, Backyard Babies and, of course, Dee Snider and Twisted Sister.
