They shoot, they score! From the producers of Wedding Crashers, Sports Movie is the laugh-out-loud comedy that spoofs the best sports movies ever made! Starring David Koechner (Anchorman) and Carl Weathers (Rocky), Sports Movie takes on the likes of Rocky, Field of Dreams, Seabiscuit, Blue Crush, Stick It and The Longest Yard, and slam-dunks its way onto DVD on 18th August 2008 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Coach Fields (Koechner) is pathetic. He has the distinction of being the worst coach in the history of sports that anyone can recall. However, although incompetent and seemingly hopeless, he is convinced by fellow coach Freddie Wiseman (Weathers) to return to the field for one last shot. Assuring his long-suffering wife Barb (Melora Hardin) that he will not ignore his family, Coach moves them to Plainfolk, Texas where he hopes to redeem himself and his reputation.
However, as coach of the football team at Heartland State University, he is saddled with a team of misfits, most of whom don't know the first thing about the game. It's up to Coach to use his unorthodox methods to whip this group of rag-tags into shape - both on and off the field. The team begins to improve, even making it to the South-SouthWest Conference Championship where they must face their fiercest opponents yet - The Lone Star Unbeatables.
