Yes Man (2008)
Tuesday 17th March 2009
Have you ever stopped to think about what would happen if you decided to say YES to everything? Can you imagine how much your life might change by making YES the new no? Well wonder no more. Superstar Jim Carrey (Horton Hears a Who, Fun With Dick and Jane, Bruce Almighty) returns to the genre in which audiences love to see him in the hugely entertaining, fun and upbeat Yes Man, set for DVD and Blu-ray release on 20th April 2009 from Warner Home Entertainment.
Yes Man is the huge box office sensation that provides deliciously positive entertainment at a time when negatives seem to be the order of the day. Based on the book by British author and TV personality Danny Wallace, Yes Man exudes fun loving positivity, making you give an involuntary thumbs up on its take on life.
Producer David Heyman (the Harry Potter films, I Am Legend), who had become a huge fan of Danny Wallace after reading his first book Join Me, brought the book to the attention of veteran Oscar®-winning producer Richard Zanuck (Driving Miss Daisy, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street). Seemingly taking inspiration from the theme, Zanuck said "'yes' to everything the script, the cast. I just liked everything about it. It was fresh, it was new. It was life-affirming and funny." Next on board was director Peyton Reed (Bring It On, The Break Up), whose visionary skills were key to the film's ingenious mix of hilarity and pathos.
Last and by no means least, Carrey is joined by a brilliant cast - Zooey Deschanel (The Assassination of Jesse James, The Happening, Elf), Bradley Cooper (Failure to Launch, Wedding Crashers), John Michael Higgins (Fred Claus, Evan Almighty, The Break-Up) and Terrence Stamp (Get Smart, Wanted).
Filled with hilarious yes-capades and featuring an amazing array of extras, your DVD and Blu-ray players will be begging for mercy as you press play and say YES time and time again to the funniest comedy of the year.
Jim Carrey plays Carl Allen, a guy whose life is going nowherethe operative word being "no"until he signs up for a self-help program based on one simple covenant: say "yes" to everything... and anything. Unleashing the power of "YES" begins to transform Carl's life in amazing and unexpected ways, getting him promoted at work and opening the door to a new romance. However, his willingness to embrace every opportunity might just become too much of a good thing.
