Be very afraid, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton return to our screens with Psychoville: Series 2, arriving on DVD and Blu ray from 13th June 2011 from 2entertain, the disturbingly bizarre, award-winning comedy thriller. Who has survived the huge explosion at the end of series 1? David and Maureen Sowerbutts? Mr Jelly, Mr Jolly? Joy and Mr Lomax, Nurse Kenchington? This series dares to answer those questions and also brings on a whole host of new faces and stars. As usual with Psychoville there are more questions than answers as the series unfurls.
Why is Mr Jelly being offered large amounts of money, and should he join the Clowns' union, FOCCE, before he is too old? Has Joy swapped a doll for something far stranger and far more demanding of food, and will she and George get over their problems and set up a happy family unit? Will NASA finally come to its senses and contact Mr Lomax, and who has been sending him pints of blood with his morning milk.and why?
Will the murderous deeds of David and Maureen Sowerbutts ever come to light and can blackmail continue unabated from beyond the grave?
As you would expect from Reece and Steve there are a whole host of new characters who emerge to thicken the fog. There's the enigmatic Finney, a detective who comes to ask the survivors what they know about Nurse Kenchington and her locket. The silent singer who haunts obsessive librarian Jeremy Goode, in his hunt for the missing copy of 50 Great Coastal Walks of the British Isles Vol 2. There is Jason Watkins as Peter Bishop, the manager of Hoyti Toytis antique toy shop, a place whose cellar hides very dark secrets indeed.
There is also Hattie and her "husband" Shirooz. Why has the make-up artist who created Bonnie Tyler's look for Total Eclipse of the Heart married a handsome Iranian waiter whose visa and luck are both about to run out?
What have they all to do with the hunt for Kenchington's locket and why is it truly a matter of life and death?
