Rising again on DVD and Blu-ray to stake its claim as the hottest television series around is the critically acclaimed, smash hit True Blood: The Complete Second Season, packed with special features and available from Warner Home Video on 17th May 2010 immediately after its run on FX and ahead of its Channel 4 broadcast.
The entire twelve episodes of the season will also be available to download from iTunes and a Complete First and Second Season twin pack will be released on both formats on the same day.
The multi award-winning first season from Academy Award winner Alan Ball (Six Feet Under, American Beauty) triumphed at both the Golden Globes (Anna Paquin - Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series) and the Emmys (Outstanding Casting For a Drama Series) and was a smash hit on DVD in the UK. The second season aired in the US to record-breaking ratings and marked its place as the most watched HBO series since The Sopranos.
Ready For Seconds?
Season Two of the show dubbed 'A modern classic' (The Guardian) 'stylishly shot and whip smartly written' (Daily Telegraph) and 'Scarier, sexier and better than ever' (Zoo) takes no prisoners as we go back to Bon Temps, home of mystery, Southern sensuality and dark secrets. For Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) life is more dangerous than ever after she and Bill (Stephen Moyer) become more deeply involved.
Meanwhile, Tara (Rutina Wesley) finds herself under a lover's spell; Sam (Sam Trammel) puts his trust in an unlikely ally; Jason (Ryan Kwanten) becomes involved with an anti-vampire sect; Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) becomes interested in Sookie after he recruits her to investigate the disappearance of his 2000-year-old maker and Maryann (Michelle Forbes) is revealed to possess a power that can control almost everyone in town.
After making a shocking discovery, Sookie, Bill and Sam must form the last line of defence against a plan that raises this award-winning series to bloody new heights. Clothes fall to the floor almost as often as blood splatters the walls in the show that blends supernatural horror, sex, and mystery with just a little bit of social commentary thrown in for good measure.
Also available as a Season One and Two Twin Pack, the DVD is packed with special features including cast and crew audio commentaries, several HBO.com specials, and The Vampire Report featurette. The Blu-ray contains even more bonus material including enhanced viewing, episodic previews and recaps and character perspectives.
Please note - Disc special features are subject to change, may differ from format to format and/or may differ from region to region.
