Desperate Housewives: The Complete Fifth Season (2004)
Wednesday 11th November 2009
The housewives of Wisteria Lane are still as desperate as ever as they return for a fifth season, but five years on and suspense still lurks in suburbia. Find out how the famous five-some fare as the Desperate Housewives: The Complete Fifth Season flashes forward half a decade and is released on DVD from 9th November 2009.
The Complete Fifth Season propels audiences five years into the future of white-picketed Wisteria and picks up from the dramatic climax of season four that left fans on tenterhooks. Why does Susan (Teri Hatcher) have a new man in her life? Why has Gabrielle (Eva Longoria Parker) let her looks go? And is trouble-making temptress Edie (Nicolette Sheridan) on a path towards self destruction?
The women are struggling, a fatal car crash sets in motion a major upheaval in Susan and Mike's (James Denton) relationship, leaving Susan a single mother - but a hot new man quickly proves an antidote to her grief. With two boisterous daughters in her ever expanding brood, Gabrielle is also battling with life and motherhood as she kisses goodbye to her supermodel ambitions, whilst husband Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) comes to terms with his blindness, blissfully unaware of Gabrielle's newfound insecurities.
Meanwhile Bree (Marcia Cross) utilises her cooking expertise and pristine image to create a culinary empire, spanning TV appearances, cookery books and signings. However, husband Orson (Kyle MacLachlan) is left neglected and fending for himself as Bree becomes more focussed on her enterprise. Can their marriage survive? Meanwhile, Lynette (Felicity Huffman) and Tom's (Doug Savant) career clashes also come to a head, but it's their twin sons' behaviour that causes the most controversy.
But the biggest mystery this season is Edie’s ice cool new husband, Dave Williams (Neal McDonough), a smooth operator with an explosive secret that will wreak havoc in Fairview. With the scene set for a spectacular finale, revenge is about to be served, but who will be the target of this cold retribution?
With the behaviour more outlandish than ever, secrets being spilt in sensational fashion and lashings of suburban suspense, your favourite housewives are back with a bang for their fifth season.
