Experience the unexpected humour, heartbreak, and triumph of one young girl's journey through modern adolescence in the award-winning comedy Eighth Grade, available on Digital and Blu-Ray 23rd September 2019 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Written and directed by breakout filmmaker Bo Burnham (The Big Sick, TV's Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous) and produced by Oscar® winner Scott Rudin (Lady Bird, The Social Network), this internationally celebrated coming-of-age movie stars Elsie Fisher (McFarland, USA, Despicable Me) and Josh Hamilton (Netflix's 13 Reasons Why, Manchester by the Sea) in the hilarious and moving story of Kayla, a thirteen-year-old girl making her way through her last week of middle school.
Universally praised by critics, Eighth Grade and Writer/Director Bo Burnham were nominated for multiple awards across the globe, while newcomer Elsie Fisher was nominated for the 2019 Golden Globe® Award for 'Best Actress - Musical or Comedy'.
Thirteen-year-old Kayla endures the tidal wave of contemporary suburban adolescence as she makes her way through the last week of middle school - the end of her thus far disastrous eighth grade year - before she begins high school.
Eighth Grade was produced by Scott Rudin (Lady Bird, The Social Network), Eli Bush (Lady Bird, Ex Machina), Lila Yacoub (Frances Ha, Moonrise Kingdom), and Christopher Storer (TV's Ramy, Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King).
