Travelling by train to Manchester to care for his ailing father, Owen Springer meets beautiful, forty-something Anna Fairley; unbeknown to Owen, she heads the management team overseeing his assessment for a new job at a Manchester hospital. Having successfully obtained the post, Owen discovers that Anna is married to his new boss, Richard Crane, only after realising he is falling in love with her.
