Falcon Beach: Season 1

A perfect remedy for the post-Christmas winter blues, the sun-kissed teen drama series Falcon Beach comes to DVD in February 2008 with the release of Falcon Beach: Season 1, featuring all 13 episodes of the series plus the show's original Pilot Episode, will be released on DVD by Fremantle Home Entertainment on 4th February 2008.

Currently screening on BBC2 on Saturday afternoons as part of BBC Switch, Falcon Beach revolves around the lives and loves of a small group of teenagers spending the summer in and around the show's eponymous resort town on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. As the holiday season hits full swing, the normally sleepy town becomes a hotbed of summer fun as passions flare and social tensions threaten to boil out of control.

With the Memorial Day Weekend marking the official start of the summer season in Falcon Beach, local kids Jason Tanner (Steve Byers) and Danny Ellis (Ephraim Ellis) are planning to kick things off in style with a celebratory beach party. The weekend also sees the arrival in town of rich girl Paige Bradshaw (Jennifer Kydd) and her mother, Ginny (Allison Hossack), who has returned to reopen waterfront cottage in which she grew up. Also returning, after four years away modelling in Europe, is Jason's childhood friend Tanya (Devon Weigel), now all grown up and looking for a little bit more than just a rekindling of their friendship.

The fireworks really begin when Tanya, feeling rejected by Jason's reluctance to pick up where they left off all those years ago, hooks up with Paige's rebellious brother and introduces him to Falcon Beach's resident drug dealer, Mook (Stephen Eric McIntyre). With temperatures rising, the sun, sand and surf aren't the only things heating/hotting up in Falcon Beach.

A compelling teen drama with a great cast of attractive and talented up-and-coming young stars, Falcon Beach is essential viewing for fans of The O.C. and One Tree Hill, as well as anybody seeking some visual escape from the cold, dark British winter months.
