Junior Doctor Emma (Portman) and wannabe TV writer Adam (Kutcher) are friends, or rather, long-term acquaintances. When Adam discovers his ex girlfriend has been sleeping with his dad and famous TV Star (Kline) he gets so drunk he ends up booty-calling every girl in his phone book in desperate need of a rebound hook-up. After waking up in a shared student apartment Emma shares with three more junior doctors, stark naked and deeply mortified, he discovers that they didn't actually sleep together. However after some flirtatious teasing, Emma eventually grants him the steamy liaison he was after and the two begin seeing each other on a regular basis. Desperate to avoid the emotional muddle of an actual relationship, Emma proposes the pair agree to a physical relationship only...
