Warner Home Video is pleased to announce the DVD release of the much-acclaimed first season of Nip/Tuck on 20th September 2004.

Nip/Tuck is sexy and compelling - a Six Feet Under meets Footballers' Wives. Set in the glamorous world of Miami's South Beach, it cuts beneath the surface of the superficial world of plastic surgery, revealing the complexities and fragile nature of patients trying to mask their psychological flaws through cosmetic enhancement.

From the first episode, hotshot plastic surgeon Dr. Christian Troy (Julian Mcmahon) enjoys all the perks of the successful and growing practice that he has shared with his best friend, Dr. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh), since they graduated from medical school.

But while the money and women continue to satisfy Christian's needs, years of selling a phoney image have taken their toll on Sean and he finds himself distanced from his wife, Julia (Joely Richardson), and children. Exasperated with Christian's questionable professional behavior, Sean strongly considers dissolving the partnership, but Christian persuades him to stay, through agreeing to take on pro-bono surgical work.

While the partnership goes through intense pressure they have to deal with a number of difficult clients, from gorgeous twins who want to change their features and establish unique identities and a women who wants extensive surgery to look beautiful for her high school reunion, to going into business with a pornography production company whose performers require the surgeons' drastic but enhancing skills.

This first season of Nip/Tuck immediately engages with the business of plastic surgery and its moral boundaries, taking a realistic look at how far cosmetic enhancement is exploited in the hands of surgeons whose clients are desperate to eradicate everything they hate about themselves. The obsession with external perfection is the essence of the series; each episode weaves in and out of people's lives, as their problems grow deeper and the pursuit for perfection abounds.

Containing nearly 1½ hours of special features, including 35 minutes of deleted scenes and a five minute gag reel, the DVD contains glamorous and captivating, yet on some occasions, gruesome plastic surgery exploits.
