After more than a decade of romance, war, separation and journeys across centuries, Jamie and Claire Fraser's remarkable story reaches its conclusion as the eighth and final season of Outlander comes to Blu-ray and DVD this September.

Following the turbulent events of Season Seven, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitríona Balfe) return to Fraser's Ridge hoping to reclaim the home and life they fought so hard to build together.

But the Ridge they return to is no longer quite the place they remember.

The American Revolution has changed both the country and the people around them, while new settlers and unexpected arrivals bring fresh complications to the community. As Jamie and Claire attempt to rebuild their lives, old secrets and unresolved tragedies resurface, forcing them once again to confront events from their past.

Their family remains at the heart of the story. Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) find themselves facing difficult choices of their own as the continuing conflict places loyalties under pressure, while Young Ian (John Bell) and Rachel (Izzy Meikle-Small) embark upon a deeply personal search.

William Ransom (Charles Vandervaart), meanwhile, continues to struggle with the revelations surrounding his identity and his complicated relationship with Jamie. When suspicious circumstances surround the death of someone close to him, his search for answers draws him into another mystery.

History also refuses to leave the Fraser family in peace. With the American Revolutionary War continuing around them and the Siege of Savannah approaching, Jamie, Claire, Brianna and Roger are once again forced to balance their knowledge, loyalties and family responsibilities against events whose outcome has already been written.

Yet some of the greatest threats facing Jamie and Claire come not from armies or politics, but from the past they share.

Questions surrounding an old tragedy that once threatened to tear them apart return to haunt the couple, while unexpected visitors and long-buried secrets challenge what they believe about their family and the life they have created together.

Through ten final episodes, the story returns repeatedly to Fraser's Ridge and the idea of home that has driven Jamie and Claire throughout their extraordinary journey. After surviving war, imprisonment, shipwreck, political upheaval and repeated separation across both continents and centuries, they must ultimately fight to protect the family and community they have spent their lives building.

Based upon the bestselling novels by Diana Gabaldon, Outlander first premiered in 2014, introducing audiences to Claire Randall, a Second World War nurse mysteriously transported from 1945 to Scotland in 1743. Her encounter with Highland warrior Jamie Fraser began an epic story spanning generations, with the series subsequently travelling from Scotland to France, the Caribbean and colonial America while combining historical drama, romance and fantasy with Claire and Jamie's enduring relationship.

Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan return for the final chapter alongside Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin and John Bell, with the ten-episode season bringing a number of familiar faces and continuing storylines back together as the series approaches its conclusion.

Outlander: Season 8 will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on 22nd September 2026 by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. For viewers wanting to revisit Jamie and Claire's entire journey, Outlander: The Complete Series will also be released on Blu-ray and DVD on the same day, collecting all eight seasons of the epic historical drama.
