Revisit your friends in the afterlife with the last instalment of the critically acclaimed and hilariously dark black comedy Dead Like Me. The complete and final second season is brought to life on DVD on 2nd April 2007 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Seattle dropout George Lass (Ellen Muth, Law & Order) is unhappy with her life, and at odds with her family. While coming home from her temp job as a filing clerk, she is hit by a toilet seat from the re-entering MIR Space Station and killed instantly. Quickly discovering that there is such a thing as an afterlife, George is recruited to become a grim reaper. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a free ride, even in death, and George has to work hard at escorting the souls of dying people to the realm beyond, while still holding down a job at the Happy Time temp agency.
In season 2 George is struggling to come to terms with the afterlife, realising it is just as problematic as being a living, breathing human being. Meanwhile, back in the world of the living, things are not so rosy either as her parents Joy (Cynthia Stevenson, The L Word) and Clancy (Greg Kean, Smallville) decide to throw in the towel on their floundering marriage.
The other reapers are also facing their own share of bad luck. Daisy (Laura Harris, 24) finds religion, larceny and love (in that order). Mason (Callum Blue, Grey's Anatomy) finally gives up the bottle, only to take it up again. And boss Rube (Mandy Patinkin), tipped off by an old friend, finds his elderly daughter and tries to make a connection with her before she dies.
Featuring 15 episodes, the second series was nominated for a number of Emmy Awards© including 'Oustanding Special Visual Effects' and 'Outstanding Music Composition' before its end in 2004. Special features of the DVD box set include a selection of deleted scenes and two featurettes.
