Prepare yourself for another bout of gut-wrenching comedy as the outlandish Larry David returns in the hit US series Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Eighth Season as it makes its debut on DVD on 11th June 2012 from HBO Home Entertainment. Also released on the same day, just in time for Father's Day, is the stunning boxset housing Curb Your Enthusiasm: Complete Seasons One to Eight.
In the Eighth Season of the multi Emmy® and Golden-Globe® winning series, Larry is living the bachelor life. With his divorce to Cheryl finalised, Larry's run-ins with celebrities, politicians and new girlfriends prompt whole new levels of social inappropriateness, even for him. See Larry hit the dating scene, battle the girl scouts, deny a dying dog his last meal, disrupt a Broadway show, deal with "pig parking" and offend everyone from Ricky Gervais to Michael J. Fox to Mayor Bloomberg. When a faulty alibi lands him back in his hometown of New York, Larry's social assassin skills are let loose on the Big Apple. Will New York change Larry, or is it the other way around?
Each side-splitting half-hour episode brings the unconventional comic vision of Larry David (co-creator and co-executive producer of one of the most lauded comedy series in TV history, Seinfeld) to HBO. The series blurs the lines between reality and fiction, as David (playing himself) along with cast regulars Jeff Garlin (as manager Jeff Greene) and Cheryl Hines (as ex-wife Cheryl) reprise their roles. The series also features hilarious guest appearances by Michael J. Fox, Ricky Gervais and Rosie O'Donnell.
To keep the narrative fresh and spontaneous, Curb Your Enthusiasm is shot without a script; the cast are given scene outlines and often improvise lines as they go. The result is an unpredictable format that's unlike anything else on TV.
