Beau Is Afraid (2023)

From visionary writer-director Ari Aster (Midsommar, Hereditary), comes the bold and ingeniously depraved film Beau Is Afraid, starring Academy Award Winner Joaquin Phoenix (Joker, Walk The Line, Her).

After missing a flight back to his hometown, Beau (Phoenix), an anxious but loving man afraid of everything - including his impossible-to-please mother, becomes trapped in a terrifying, seemingly never-ending odyssey that defies time and space.

A delirious journey into the unknown from one of the most inventive cinematic minds working today, Beau Is Afraid tells the story of a man who sets out to visit his mother and discovers a world of malevolent forces and unseen eyes tracking his every move. Dense with meaning and aimed squarely at confronting the emotional chaos and collective uncertainty of our present day, Beau Is Afraid follows one man's odyssey through the depths of the end of history, finding horror and humour at every turn.

The film also stars Patti LuPone (TV's American Horror Story), Amy Ryan (Birdman), Nathan Lane (The Producers) and Kylie Rogers (TV's Yellowstone).
