Multi-award winning comedian Jack Whitehall is back as the infamous Alfie Wickers in a feature length instalment of the BBC comedy series Bad Education, released on DVD and Blu-Ray on 14th December 2015, courtesy of Entertainment in Video.
The big screen adaptation sees Jack Whitehall (winner of the British Comedy Award 'King of Comedy' 2012-2014) reunite with Harry Enfield (Kevin & Perry Go Large), Mathew Horne (Gavin & Stacey), Sarah Solemani (Him & Her) and his class of pupils Ethan Lawrence, Layton Williams, Nikki Runeckles, Kae Alexander, Weruche Opia, Jack Binstead and Charlie Wernham. The series cast will join forces with Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, The Railway Man), Joanna Scanlan (Stardust, Notes on a Scandal), Talulah Riley (Pride & Prejudice, Inception), Iain Glenn (Game of Thrones) and Clarke Peters (Marley & Me, The Wire).
Alfie Wickers is probably the worst teacher to (dis)grace the English education system, but no one cares about their pupils quite as much as Alfie does. Having completed their GCSEs, Alfie is keen for his class to join him on one last hurrah and what follows is a coming of age story like no other, the best school trip ever!
Bad Education launched on the BBC in summer 2012 and ran for three series. It regularly achieved a cumulative 3.5 million viewers across the BBC platforms. The show went from strength to strength with series 2 and 3 being amongst the most viewed shows on the BBC i-player, hitting highs of 2.9 million requests.
The Bad Education Movie is co-written by Jack Whitehall and Freddy Syborn (Bad Education) and directed by Elliot Hegarty (Bad Education). Entertainment Film Distributors present a Cave Bear Productions and Tiger Aspect Pictures production.
