Outlander: Season 1 (2015)

The epic adventure Outlander: Season One arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on 28th September 2015 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. A specially curated Deluxe Collector's Edition Blu-ray and DVD will also be available for Outlander fans to own early on 28th September 2015. In addition to extensive special features, the Deluxe Collector's Edition boasts exclusive packaging with a gold foiled slip case, five collectible art cards and a 64-page book with photographs, excerpts from the script and an introduction from author Diana Gabaldon.

The epic sci-fi adventure Outlander explores the relationships of Claire Randall, a World War II nurse who inexplicably travels back in time to 18th Century Scotland, where she meets Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous Scottish warrior. Caitriona Balfe (Now You See Me) and Sam Heughan (A Princess for Christmas) head the cast of Starz' breakout series based on Diana Gabaldon's #1 New York Times best-seller.

Outlander: Season One contains all 16 episodes and is loaded with special features including Outlander Podcasts on every episode and featurettes such as Weaving Authentic: Making the Fabrics of Outlander, which provides insight into the significance and production of the fabrics used in the series.

Exclusive to the Blu-ray and the Deluxe Collector's Edition Blu-ray and DVD will be an extensive amount of additional bonus material including 33 deleted scenes. Outlander fans can also get the ultimate behind-the-scenes look into the show with all-new behind-the-scenes featurettes. In Diana Gabaldon Tours Outlander the author is able to see her words come to life as she tours the set for the first time. The Outlander Cast & Crew Table Read shows everyone coming together for table reads on two episodes entitled The Way Out and The Gathering. A Triangle in Time features Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe and Tobias Menzies as they discuss the passionate yet complicated love triangle between Jamie, Claire and Frank.

Finally, the Blu-ray and Deluxe Collector's Edition Blu-ray will also contain a unique extended cut of The Reckoning, almost 12 minutes longer than the final aired version. Utilising unfinished deleted footage, Ronald D. Moore gives Outlander fans a look at an episode presented with both a longer script version of the show vs. the final edited cut after being trimmed for broadcast.

Outlander also stars Tobias Menzies (Game of Thrones), Duncan Lacroix (Vikings), Grant O'Rourke, Stephen Walters, Graham McTavish (The Hobbit trilogy), Gary Lewis (Billy Elliot), and Lotte Verbeek (The Borgias). The series was developed by executive producer and Peabody Award winner Ronald D. Moore (2005, Battlestar Galactica), best known for his contributions to the Star Trek franchise. Outlander is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company, and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse, who, in 1946, is mysteriously swept back in time to the Scotland of 1743, and immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that splits Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
