Tuesday 14th June 2011
Things are about to heat up with a British romantic comedy that will warm both your heart and appetitite: Love's Kitchen is released on DVD on 4th July 2011 by 2020 Films, following hot on the heels of the cinema release.
Inspired by the story of John Haley, the landlord of Kate Middleton's local pub The Old Boot Inn in Stanford Dingley, this ensemble British film stars Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives, Mission Impossible 2) as Rob Haley; a talented chef and restaurateur in London who is grief stricken after losing his wife in a car accident. As his life begins to spiral out of control, he loses his magic touch in the kitchen. After a terrible review from a food critic, old friend and world-famous chef Gordon Ramsay (Hell's Kitchen) pays him a visit, inspiring him to take control and reclaim the life he once had.
Rob, his daughter and loyal staff including Shauna (Michelle Ryan - Eastenders, Bionic Woman) and Loz (Lee Boardman - Rome) leave the troubled past behind and move to a village to turn a run-down countryside local, The Boot, into a gastro-pub. As the doors open Kate Templeton (Claire Forlani - Meet Joe Black, CSI: New York), an American food critic with a troubled love life enters Rob's chaotic world. The last thing Rob needs is an uppity critic with a bad taste in men to ruin his new life. Kate soon becomes tempted by Rob's talent in the kitchen but will he be able to russle up a new recipe for love?
Directed by James Hacking and led by an ensemble of the best in British acting including Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral, A Room with a View), Peter Bowles (The Bank Job, Agatha Christie: Poirot), Cheri Lunghi (Secret Diary of a Call Girl, A Touch of Frost) and Joshua Bowman (Holby City, Make It Or Break It), and with picturesque scenery, you're sure to be entertained.
