Sure to raise a few eyebrows, life made out of kids' toy building blocks takes on a whole new level in the brand new animated adult comedy series Rick and Steve The Happiest Gay Couple in All the World available to own exclusively through 4DVD from 27th October 2008.
Featuring all six episodes, the DVD includes a raft of exclusive extras such as making of featurettes Crafting Rick & Steve and Toys will be toys: Animating Rick & Steve, as well as cast interviews and digisodes. Reminiscent of past animated hits like Southpark, the show is a stop motion animated sitcom following the lives of three gay couples - Rick and Steve, Chuck and Evan, and Dana and Kirsten - as they live in the fictional 'gay ghetto' of West Lahunga Beach.
Unfortunately Kirsten's wife Dana and Rick's husband Steve are mortal enemies, meaning the insults fly and nothing goes unspoken. Who would have known that the ugly, bitter truth of domestic bliss could look so cute? Steve is actively seeking a three-way with Rick and another man, Kirsten and Dana want a baby (with Rick's sperm), and Chuck and Evan are simply trying to be together with a 31 year age difference between them. Both hilarious and cringe-inducing, the show possesses a sense of humour which can only come from within the gay community lest it be labelled offensive.
Rick & Steve airs on E4 in September for six weeks, with the DVD being released on Monday 27th October 2008 courtesy of 4DVD and features the voices of Alan Cumming, Peter Paige, Wilson Cruz and Margaret Cho, with music from the creators of Avenue Q.
