BBC Worldwide presents the release of Silk: Series 2, written by the BAFTA award-winning writer Peter Moffat, which follows the lives, loves and tricky cases facing barristers on the front line of criminal law. This thrilling drama is available to own on DVD from 25th June 2012.
The determined and passionate Martha Costello (Maxine Peake; Little Dorrit, Criminal Justice II) and the funny and dangerous Clive Reaper (Rupert Penry-Jones; Spooks, Whitechapel) return as the brilliant defense barristers.
Martha is now member of the Queen's Council which means the stakes are always high. All consumed with her career and trying to reach the top of her profession, her love/hate relationship with Clive seems to be growing more important to her. Could their feelings for each other finally lead somewhere, or is Clive the one person she should never trust?
Meanwhile, in Chambers, the Senior Clerk Billy Lamb (Neil Stuke; Game On, The Bill) way of dealing with tough times is to tout for work from solicitor Micky Joy (Philip Davis; Bleak House, Whitechapel) - a man with a reputation for representing some very heavy criminals.
Smart and classy with sharp, witty dialogue, Silk is a fast-paced drama following the rivalry, tension, passion and intrigue of life on the front line of criminal law
