In The Club (2014)

Drenched in drama and featuring an outstanding cast, renowned writer Kay Mellor, creator of The Syndicate, Playing the Field and Fat Friends, returns with In The Club, a brand new series based around a local antenatal class. This five-part drama comes to DVD courtesy of RLJ Entertainment on 22nd September 2014, following the hugely popular run on BBC One which concludes 2nd September 2014.

Hermione Norris (Cold Feet), stars as 40-something Roanna, one of six women who are preparing for the arrival of their babies and is in the midst of a messy divorce and expecting with her 27-year-old boyfriend.

Diane Manning (Jill Halfpenny - Eastenders) and husband Rick, (Will Mellor - Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps), are expecting their miracle child having been told they would never conceive. But a late scan reveals more than they bargained for, and with mounting pressure on unemployed Rick to provide for his family, drastic measures are taken.

Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd) stars as blog writer and teaching assistant Kim, who is expecting her first baby with partner Susie (Tara Fitzgerald - Waking The Dead) and sperm donor Neil (Jonathan Kerrigan - Heartbeat).

Newlywed Jasmin (Taj Atwal - Stella) is pregnant with her first baby and she has all the negative things associated with pregnancy - swollen ankles, backache and constant heartburn, topped with confusion over her due date, which can only mean trouble.

Head of the antenatal class, and pregnant herself, Vicky (Christine Bottomley - Hope Springs) always goes the extra mile for her patients, but is secretly terrified of her imminent labour. Meanwhile, fifteen-year-old Rosie (Hannah Midgley - Emmerdale) is hiding her pregnancy from everyone - her dad, the school and even her baby's mystery father. Alone and frightened, she turns to Kim's pregnancy blog for support. But with her waistband fit to burst, she won't be able to keep her secret forever...
