Grace and her colleagues Annie and Tommy are new recruits in their probationary period - the three months in a new officer's career when they can be asked to leave the force immediately, at any time. The stakes are high for them, and the odds are one of them isn't going to make it through. They're under constant scrutiny from their peers and superiors, all of them looking for weaknesses.

The pressure is immense, but if they show it, they won't survive.
