Synopsis

Based in 1953, a group of young women are studying at the prestigious, all-female Wellesley College. But while they live in a world of wealth and power, their only aspiration in life is to marry well. Art history teacher Katherine Watson (Roberts) is determined to confront the outdated traditional ways of society and inspire the students to challenge the institution and the lives they are expected to lead.

Mona Lisa Smile is a truly heart-warming, inspiring film - and Julia Roberts gives an engaging performance in a wonderful story of women struggling to find themselves in a era that has already defined them. The DVD contains several insightful featurettes as well as an Elton John music video.
