This special four-disc box set features all 22 episodes of the first series, including the rarely seen pilot episode directed by Martha Coolidge (The Prince & Me; Out To Sea; Rambling Rose), and comes packed with extra features all given the "Hammer" seal of approval by series creator and producer Alan Spencer.

David Rasche (Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood) stars as the eponymous trigger-happy police detective with a preference for shooting first and asking questions six months later. Driven by his hatred of "criminal scum and yoghurt eatin' creeps", Sledge sets out to fight crime the only way he knows how - by using excessive force whenever possible, much to the chagrin of his superior officer, Captain Trunk (Harrison Page).
