Details

Prepare to play ball with the funniest romantic comedy of the year! The Perfect Catch stars Drew Barrymore as a girl trying to make her relationship work despite often coming second best to a sports team!

Directed by the Farrelly brothers who bought you There's Something About Mary and Shallow Hal, The Perfect Catch is released to buy and rent on DVD on 13th February 2006 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

When beautiful business consultant Lindsey Meeks (Barrymore; 50 First Dates, Charlie's Angels) meets high-school teacher Ben Wrightman (Jimmy Fallon; Taxi, Saturday Night Live), the attraction is immediate. Ben is funny, charming and great with kids, and this convinces Lindsey to date below her income level! Although Lindsey and Ben have their differences and her friends are sceptical, before long Lindsey has been swept off her feet by her Mr. Right!

However, what Lindsey doesn't realise is that she's fallen for Winter Guy. As baseball season approaches, Ben quickly morphs into Summer Guy and confesses the extent of his love for the Boston Red Sox. For the past 25 years, every summer Ben's life has revolved completely around the fortunes of his beloved baseball team. At first, Lindsey convinces herself she will be able to cope, and she tries desperately to understand Ben's obsession.

However, as the season progresses, Lindsey begins to lose patience with Ben. She cannot understand why he would rather go to spring training camp in Florida than meet her parents. He cannot understand why this is even an issue. Lindsey finds herself involved in an unexpected love triangle, involving a man, a woman and a baseball team! When Red Sox tickets are always more important than anything she suggests, Lindsey has a tip for Ben: "When your girlfriend says let's go to Paris for the weekend - you go".

As the sporting season comes to a finale, Ben and Lindsey must decide if they, as a couple, will strike out or fight to keep their love alive through extra innings. Based on Nick Hornby's best-selling novel Fever Pitch, this great value DVD is packed with hilarious special features including deleted scenes, gag reel, alternate ending and commentary from directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly.
