Stan Lee Presents
Wednesday 25th April 2007
From the mind of Stan Lee, the legendary comic creator responsible for Spider-Man, the X-Men and The Hulk, come two brand-new superheroes for the 21st century - Mosaic and The Condor - each starring in their own feature-length animated movie, both debuting on DVD in May in the Stan Lee Presents series released by Starz Home Entertainment.
A truly legendary figure in the comic book world, Stan Lee has created and co-created 90 percent of all Marvel Comics' characters. His name has appeared on more than 2 billion comic books worldwide, published in 75 countries and translated into 25 languages. In the realm of comic books, nobody is as big as Stan Lee. Now in his 85th year, Stan shows no signs of slowing down by forming a new company POW! Entertainment to showcase his Stan Lee Presents series.
Released on DVD on 7th May 2007 and 21st May 2007, respectively, Stan Lee Presents Mosaic and Stan Lee Presents The Condor represent the first time ever that Stan has authorized his own branded product outside of the Marvel universe. Featuring the vocal talents of Oscar-winning actress Anna Paquin (star of the X-Men movies), Mosaic is the story of aspiring teen actress Maggie Nelson, whose life takes a dramatic turn when she is caught between a freak electrical storm, a pet reptile and a mysterious rune stone and develops a chameleon-like ability to shape-shift at will. Maggie's new-found super powers are soon called in to play when her father, an Interpol agent, is mysteriously kidnapped.
Scripted by Scott Lobdell (Uncanny X-Men; Daredevil; Fantastic Four) from an original story by Stan Lee, Mosaic is a thrilling teen adventure in the tradition of Buffy and Heroes.
Written by Blade creator Marv Wolfman and boasting the vocal talents of Wilmer Valderrama (That 70s Show; Fast Food Nation) and Maria Conchita Alonso (Material Girl), The Condor concerns the extraordinary tale of skateboarding college dropout Tony Valdez (a rare example of a Hispanic hero in media today), orphaned when his parents are murdered and himself crippled by a brutal beating. Using NanoBot technology to regain the use of his legs, Tony is transformed into a superhuman skater torn between his instinct to fight evil and his thirst for avenging the death of his parents.
