Oscar-nominee Richard Todd introduces this fascinating documentary from 1952. The Elstree Story is available on DVD on 8th July 2013, courtesy of Network.
Starting in 1927 when the first film, The White Sheik, was made there, The Elstree Story features excerpts from over 40 productions - including Hitchcock's Blackmail, the first feature-length British talkie ever shown - with early appearances by some of cinema's greatest stars.
