From producer J.J Abrams (Lost, Super 8) and writer Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Boogeyman), comes the action-packed and gripping science fiction drama Revolution arriving on Blu-ray and DVD on 30th September 2013, courtesy of Warner Home Video.
This epic 20 part adventure thriller is looking to find answers and hope in a post-apocalyptic dystopian future, a world that has been corrupted by power. With an explosive pilot episode directed by Iron Man's Jon Favreau, Revolution stars an experienced and talented television cast, including; Billy Burke (The Twilight Saga, Red Riding Hood, 24) as Miles Matheson; Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Once Upon a Time, Law and Order) as Major Tom Neville; Tracy Spiridakos (Being Human, Psych, Rise of the Planet of the Apes) as concerned sibling Charlie Matheson; Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, House, Boston Legal) as Rachel Matheson; Graham Rogers (Crazy Kind of Love, Struck by Lightning) as Charlie's brother Danny; Tim Guinee (Iron Man, CSI, 24) as their father Ben Matheson; David Lyons (Safe Haven, The Cape, ER) as evil dictator Sebastian Monroe. Revolution also features a stellar supporting cast of Zak Orth (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Romeo + Juliet, Music and Lyrics) as Aaron Pittman and Daniella Alonso (The Hills Have Eyes, CSI, One Tree Hill) as Nora Clayton.
The first episode begins with a family struggling to reunite in a post-apocalyptic American landscape: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology has mysteriously blacked out.
A drama with sweeping scope and intimate focus, Revolution is also about family - both the family you're born into and the family you choose. Charlie's (Spiridakos) life is dramatically changed when a local militia arrives and kills her father, who mysteriously - and unbeknownst to her - had something to do with the 'blackout'. When her brother Danny Matheson is kidnapped by one of the militia leaders, for a darker purpose, Charlie must reconnect with their estranged Uncle, a former U.S. Marine living a reclusive life. Together, with a rogue band of survivors, they set out to rescue Danny, overthrow the militia, and ultimately re-establish the United States of America. All the while, they explore the enduring mystery of why the power failed, and if (or how) it will ever return. This is a swashbuckling journey of hope and rebirth seen through the eyes of one strong-willed young woman.
