Nurse Jackie: Season 2 (2009)
Wednesday 16th February 2011
Get Addicted! Jackie's back for a second season of the darkly comedic show set in a US hospital. The highly-acclaimed Nurse Jackie - Season Two, stars Edie Falco (The Sopranos, 30 Rock) is currently airing on BBC 2 and will be out on DVD and Blu-ray from the 18th April 2011 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. The series has been nominated for various awards with Falco winning the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
Nurse Jackie is a pill-popping, rule-bending medical renegade, dishing out her own brand of justice on the wards and giving her superiors hell! But she's also leading a double life - a happily married mother of two, she's been having an affair with pharmacist Eddie who supplies her meds. In this second series, Jackie is coming to terms with her break up from Eddie, who is not ready to give Jackie up quite so easily... meanwhile she's finding it harder to hide her drug addiction from colleagues, particularly with the introduction of the Pill-O-Matix machine which replaced Eddie. And she's continually pestered by the puppy-like novice nurse Zoey, who's started taking making up a few bent rules of her own... Holy Shift!
Also starring Peter Facinelli (The Twilight Saga) plus Eve Best - the acclaimed UK actress recently seen as Wallis Simpson in The Kings Speech, Nurse Jackie combines darkly comic and riveting performances with a perfect cast playing wonderfully observed characters. It is truly addictive...
Get A Double Dose! - If you missed out on the terrific Season One, it's available as a double DVD pack with Season Two from 18th April. Plus, you can play catch up on Blu-ray too - Season One will be available on Blu-ray from 18th April 2011 as well.
