The Angels' Share (2012)
Tuesday 11th September 2012
From award-winning director Ken Loach and writer Paul Laverty comes The Angels' Share, a bitter sweet comedy caper which proves that sometimes all you need in life is a little spirit; released on DVD and Blu-Ray by Entertainment One on 24th September 2012.
Sneaking into the maternity ward to visit his girlfriend Leonie and hold his newborn son for the first time, Robbie swears that Luke will not have the same tragic life he has had. But with Leonie's father after him and a court case looming, Robbie's cornered.
Serving a community service order, he meets Rhino, Albert and Mo who, like him, can't find work because of their criminal records.
Little did Robbie imagine how drink could change their lives - not cheap booze, but the finest malt whiskies. His newly discovered palate and delicate 'nose' lead Robbie and crew to a strange new world - the Scottish Highlands - and the biggest gamble of their lives. Will it be slopping out for the next 20 years, or a new future with the 'Water of Life'? Only the angels know...
