Beethoven's Big Break (2008)
Friday 6th March 2009
Bring Together one mega-popular pooch, an all-star cast, some of today's hottest music and a barrel of bouncing baby St Bernards and it all adds up to Beethoven's Big Break. Set to have families everywhere howling with delight, Universal Pictures UK brings this all-new adventure exclusively to DVD on 18th May 2009.
Featuring a kennel full of bonus material, this fresh and funny re-imagination of the hugely popular franchise is jam-packed with more action and laughs than ever before. This full-length comedy features a host of popular faces, including Moises Arias (Rico on Hannah Montana), Jonathan Silverman (The Single Guy, Weekend at Bernie's), Daytime Emmy winner Jennifer Finnigan (The Bold and the Beautiful), Rhea Perlman (Cheers), Stephen Tobolowsky (Heroes) and 'N Sync's Joey Fatone.
Eddie (Jonathan Silverman) is an animal trainer trying to earn a living in Hollywood. He's also a single dad raising a wilfully disobedient young son who doesn't think twice about bringing a gigantic stray St Bernard into the house and destroying the kitchen. Eddie orders the immediate eviction of his new house guest, until that is the canine star of the movie he is working on suddenly goes missing.
Forced to find a quick replacement, the studio big shots unexpectedly cast the lumbering 185lb canine as their next big star. Now it's up to Eddie to domesticate the slobbering beast, all the while trying to keep his moody kid happy, romance a lovely screenwriter, manage the anxiety of the temperamental producer (Rhea Perlman) and prevent an evil dog-napper and his henchmen from taking Beethoven. Through his rambunctious antics and larger-than-life personality, Beethoven not only crashes into Hollywood but into Eddie's heart as well.
