Get ready to embark on a magical journey as Zhang Yimou's visually stunning House Of Flying Daggers is released to buy and rent on two disc DVD and video on 2nd May 2005 from Pathé Distribution Ltd. A breathtaking love story wrapped inside a martial arts film, the thrilling House Of Flying Daggers stars Ziyi Zhang, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Andy Lau.

The year is 859AD and China's Tang Dynasty is losing its grip on the hearts and minds of the people. Unrest is raging throughout the land, and the corrupt government is locked in battle with rebel armies that are forming in protest. The largest, and most prestigious of these is the 'House of Flying Daggers', which is growing ever more powerful under a mysterious new leader.

Two local captains, Leo (Andy Lau; Infernal Affairs) and Jin (Takeshi Kaneshiro; Turn Left, Turn Right) are ordered to capture the new leader and the two hatch an elaborate plan. Jin will pretend to be a lone warrior in order to rescue the beautiful, blind revolutionary Mei (Ziyi Zhang; Hero, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), from prison, earning her trust and escorting her to the secret headquarters of the House of Flying Daggers.

The plan works, but to their surprise, Jin and Mei fall deeply in love on their long journey to the House. From there begins a long trail of dangerous encounters, impossible love triangles and plot twists, in which people are rarely as they seem. House Of Flying Daggers tells an emotional journey in which three people suffer for love - it tears them apart, yet they are willing to sacrifice everything for it.

From the director of Hero and the producer of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the critically acclaimed House Of Flying Daggerswas nominated for 9 BAFTA Awards including 'Best Foreign Language Film' and 'Best Actress' for Ziyi Zhang. The film has also been nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Cinematography. Released to buy as a two disc DVD, special features including a 'making of' featurette, director's commentary, cast and crew interviews, and music video.
