In order to avoid his past life, con man Marius (Giovanni Ribisi) on the run from a vicious gangster (Bryan Cranston) takes cover by assuming the identity of his prison cellmate, Pete (Ethan Embry).

Marius then "reunites" with Pete's estranged family - a colourful, dysfunctional group - who have no reason to suspect he's not their long-lost loved son. However, his new life threatens to drag him into a world just as dangerous as the one he's trying to escape.

Marius must find a way to keep his lies from backfiring as he deals with unexpected situations that come his way - and, just maybe, he'll get a taste of the loving family he's never had.
