The award-winning and critically acclaimed comedy drama, The Band's Visit, is out to buy and rent on DVD from 25th August 2008, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

An original and hugely enjoyable comedy, The Band's Visit follows a brass band made up of 8 Egyptian policemen who head to Israel to play at the inaugural ceremony of an Arab arts centre. On their arrival, however, the band finds that there is no delegation to meet them and led by the uptight Tawfiq, they attempt to make their own way to their destination... only to get themselves stranded in a remote town in the heart of the desert.

As they awkwardly try to ingratiate themselves with the natives, the barriers of national identity slowly break down to reveal that people are not so very different underneath.
