Relive the feminist fight for freedom as Suffragette is released on Blu-ray and DVD 29th February 2016 courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Directed by Sarah Gavron (Brick Lane) and written by Abi Morgan (Shame), Suffragette is an inspiring drama following the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement as they fight for the right to vote.

Starring BAFTA Award winner Carry Mulligan (Drive, The Great Gatsby) as Maud Watts, Suffragette tracks Maud as she becomes an activist for the growing Suffragette movement alongside women from all walks of life. When increasingly aggressive police action forces Maud and her fellow suffragettes underground, they engage in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with the authorities.

These women were not primarily from the genteel educated classes, they were working women who had seen peaceful protest achieve nothing. Radicalised and turning to violence as the only route to change, they were willing to lose everything in their fight for equality - their jobs, their homes, their children and their lives. The character of Maud (Mulligan), is one such foot soldier. The story of her fight for dignity is both heart-breaking and inspirational.

Alongside Mulligan the film stars Anne-Marie Duff (Before I go to Sleep) as Violet Miller, Screen Actors Guild Award winner Helena Bonham Carter (Cinderella, Les Miserables) as Edith Ellyn, alongside Academy Award winner Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada, Mama Mia) as Emmeline Pankhurst and British Independent Film Awards winner Brendon Gleeson (Troy, Gangs of New York) as Inspector Arthur Steed.

The exceptional behind-the-scenes creative team includes cinematographer Eduard Grau (A Single Man), production designer Alice Normington (Nowhere Boy) and costume designer Jane Petrie (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Notting Hill).
