Summer Phoenix (The Laramie Project, The Believer) stars as Suzie Gold, a North London Jewish girl struggling to fulfil her dreams without betraying her ethnic roots. A hip romantic comedy directed and co-written by Richard Cantor (Da Ali G Show), Suzie Gold is released to rent and buy on DVD and Video on 2nd August 2004 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Suzie Gold comes from a traditional family firmly entrenched in the Jewish community, where she is pressured not to marry outside her faith. Her younger sister Sophie (Ariana Fraval) is about to tie the knot with a nice Jewish boy, and Suzie is expected to follow suit. When the handsome (and parent-pleasing) Anthony Silver (Iddo Goldberg) asks her out on a date, Suzie feels her love life is finally falling into place.

Unfortunately, the date is a disappointment, and Suzie realises that Anthony may not be the one for her after all... Instead, she finds herself falling for Darren (Leo Gregory) who she meets in her new TV production job - the only problem being that Darren isn't Jewish. They begin a secret romance but Darren isn't impressed when after several months Suzie still can't admit to her parents that she's dating a gentile, and he issues her with an ultimatum.

As the plans for her sister's wedding go into overdrive, Suzie must decide whether to do as her family expect and date Anthony, or follow her heart and continue to see Darren. Suzie is forced to determine what she really wants from life...

Featuring an outstanding supporting cast of British talent, including Rebecca Front, Stanley Townsend and Leon Lissek, Suzie Gold also features a cameo appearance from singer Rachel Stevens. Hilarious and heart-warming, this is a slice of Jewish life not to be missed!
